About DeKalb County Community Gardens

Rooted For Good, previously known as DeKalb County Community Gardens, is dedicated to ending hunger and food insecurity in DeKalb County by providing access to fresh, local, sustainably grown organic vegetables. Since its founding in 2012, the organization has distributed over two million pounds of food to residents in need. Through various programs, including community gardens, educational initiatives, and job training, Rooted For Good makes a significant impact on the lives of tens of thousands of neighbors in northern Illinois.
